Our lines are open
O.k., so it may take a while but eventually I clue in. Apparently, I turned on the "comment moderation" feature when I was playing around with my settings a couple of weeks ago, and THAT's why there haven't been any comments on my last few posts.
Thanks to Snooze and Susan as Herself for taking the time to let me know something was wrong, and reassure me that you still like me. Good thing too ... I was beginning to feel like that poor little lamp from the Ikea commercial!

Aw, we adore you. Glad you can see that in print now.
WELLL......I just assumed this whole time that you were still getting our comments, secretly. Like a cyber-space underground railroad.
I hope, at the very least you got and read with an open heart, that I think you have an amazing writing voice.
In other news, I love the illustrations you posted from the books of your childhood. I am really endeared with kids books. Those drawings, had a lovely simplicity that truely won me over.
Have you ever seen the series of 'Max the Dog' by Maira Kalman? She has these wonderfully whimsical paintings on every page and her writing is so damn imaginative & charming. Check them out if time allows. Best to you my dear.
Snooze - Gee shucks. Now I'm blushing ... :)
Standing - Message well and truly received, and thank you.
Cyberspace underground, eh? Now that WOULD be cool. We could write in code, just in case somebody was "listening" - though I don't think invisible ink made out of lemon juice would work so well in this case!
Like you, I'm a big fan of children's lit. I even did my masters thesis on the development of children's poetry, though the interaction between illustration and text is fascinating too. I like graphic novels for the same reason. Pictures and words, can't beat the combination!
Yay!!!! Comments! Glad to see I can talk back to you now! :)
Susan - Yeah! *skips around madly* Yeah!
Lol, i thought you were dismissing my comments pretty coldly!
:)
St. D - The weird thing is that I didn't receive comment notifications in my e-mail or anything ... so I don't know what ANYONE said. Now I'm seriously (well, semi-seriously) wondering who's getting my mail!
Phew! For awhile there I felt as though you had read my comments and then just dismissed them as being unworthy of publishing! Glad that you know we all care!
that poor ikea lamp. that commercial makes me feel as sad as it does stupid.
EM - I'm glad we're all one big happy family again!
Manja - I don't care what that Swedish twit says ... household furniturev and accessories DO have feelings!
